Dr David Shore, of Harvard University suggests, “Change Initiatives are the vehicles by which strategy is delivered and represents the most significant dimension in determining whether goals and objectives are achieved. The ubiquitous culture of resistance, risk and much, much, more require that our approach rely heavily on behavioral change management. Only then can we achieve change resilience. Dr Shore goes on to suggest a piece of rope provides the frame of reference = the connective tissue – that allows us to bridge the gap between strategy and execution.”
For example, Kenny Rogers song lyrics, The Gambler, you got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em, know when to walk away, and know when to run. Therefore, as a further example, when should you let go of the rope and when should you never let go of the rope, and tighten the rope, loosen the rope, and hand off the rope? Sometimes Leaders must make tough decisions!
